Treat 'Data as a Product' in this Enterprise level, Domain focused approach of Data Architecture !
good
This course has many theoretical aspects and very limited amounts of practical examples but content can be very effectively delivered if instructor used illustrations.
I don't know if I will ever have the opportunity to use this technology. However, I would like to refer to it for future certification exams.
First sound quality in some sessions is awful. You hear lots of background noises. Sometimes you hear some guys talking in the background (like in section 5, course 21)! It is annoying and makes hard to understand what he says.
Second he doesn't go deep and talk practical! You can learn all of this content just by reading couple pages over internet specially on Martin Fowler website.
Third the presentation of content is not good. It's just a slide.
I am a DBA and I agree Data Mesh can change things for better, good course.
This course is very "academic". I could not sense a practical experience of lecturer in the area. Slides are overloaded with text and contains no diagram, which make it difficult to visualize the concept and to stay focused. I finally landed at https://www.datamesh-architecture.com (one of the listed resources in the course) to understand what is data-mesh architecture, which challenges it solves and it helped me a lot. Audio quality of some lessons is poor.
This course gives a very basic introduction into Data Mesh!
- improve the sound
- create slides with a more heterogenous presentation
- spend more time explaining some of the topics
- create diagrams in some of the slides. They are plenty in the internet
Lots of background noise on some segments. Slides were basically read by the tutor.
A pretty basic course, lacks any deeper insight or even good graphics. Im a visual learner and the repetitive slides with common generic smart art is super dissapointing. I dont have too much confidence in the lecturer having actual practical knowledge of the subject.
give practical examples of some concepts. example: these are the data domains in company x
A bit more interactive lectures will be helpful
